About the Unisa Academic Development Open Virtual Hub (ADOVH) Course Portal

ADOVH was established in 2020 as part of a Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) Covid-19 Responsiveness Grant. Its subsequent activities are funded through external grants - i.e., the Department of Higher Education and Training  (DHET) University Capacity Development Programme (UCDP), and a Microsoft Business Investment. The primary purpose of ADOVH is to serve as an incubator for digital innovation in teaching, learning, and student support. ADOVH serves as a strategic arm of the university to develop our students' digital competencies so that they can be effective online learners with equal opportunities to succeed.

In this portal, you will find accumulated knowledge in the form of open courses that you can use to sustain your appetite for knowledge, develop your competencies, and enhance your digital skills for a technology-mediated learning environment and digitalised workforce.

You can enrol for any course in this portal. Note: Selective open courses offer certificates of participation/ certificates of completion/ digital badges with compulsory tasks/ activities that must be completed. Some courses are also offered with external partners to ensure that we remain current.

We wish you well as you commence your open learning and personal building journey.
