ĂbrahĂĄm KovĂĄcs is an esteemed professor in three countries, Hungary, Romania and Slovakia. KovĂĄcs is Chair and Professor of Religion and Theology at Debrecen Reformed University, Hungary, and Head of Doctoral School, Reformed Theology, Chair and Professor of History of Religion, J. Selye University, Slovakia.
KovĂĄcs earned degrees in History (Debrecen, Hungary), Comparative Theology of Religion (Princeton), Science of Religion (Edinburgh, Scotland), and Theology (Debrecen, and Edinburgh).
He also studied at Tßbingen, Germany. He is well-known in various circles of the Science of Religion. Kovåcs had served for nine years in the leadership of the European Association for the Study of Religion, finishing his second term as a vice president of EASR in December 2025.
