H5P Introduction

H5P is a JavaScript-based content collaboration framework, H5P is free and open-source. H5P allows the creation of interactive content in an easy-to-use online or offline content editing framework.

H5P is cross-platform compatible, so you can easily integrate H5P content into various learning management systems and websites. At Unisa, the H5P plugin is already installed on the myModules learning management system.

H5P content can be created directly in the learning management system or by using the Lumi app.

Note: The open-source version of H5P is available at https://h5p.org/ while https://h5p.com/ is a subscription-based platform to host H5P content. Since we will be hosting the content directly in the learning management system, we do not need an H5P hosting subscription.

Lumi

Lumi is a free app you can download to your computer or use online to share your content.

The app is useful if you:

• Prefer to create content in an app.
• Work offline.
• Saving H5P content locally.
• Need to share content publicly.

The app can be downloaded from the Lumi app website at: https://app.lumi.education/
