Good evening/Erev Tov/Fonana, O kai? Madame Kameogelo Hellen Elizabeth Mnisi

I foresee the qualification you have chosen as great value to South Africa as a community and it's economy. Including historically, nevertheless, more than ever during current times. I earnestly would love to hear about the knowledge and experience you have gained through the duration of your academic studies while further examining your personal ideas regarding vital micro and macro changes withing the tourism industry. Whilst acquiring a sense of you're personal ideals and scope in relation to studies within the tourism industry and other fields which are interchangeable on a continuum further regarding the impact and nature on variables, structures, phenomena, research findings, studies and practices informed by this particular subject/industry along with many others.

May you're dreams come true, when using the knowledge attained from your preferred field of study, namely, tourism management and applying personal knowledge and practices gained for the greater good of mankind, brethren and country.

The reason why I chose this certificate is because I fell in love with teaching at a very young age. The way I saw my previous educators taking time with us, helping us with our work when we didn’t understand, how they nurtured us & actually helping us be where we are today knowing how to read & write made me realise that when I grow up I also want to give knowledge to children, I want to be part of who they grow up to be. This is just the start, I will be doing my BEd as from next year.

I am Makhosonke Ndlela, doing 4th year in LLB. The reason I registered for LLB was because I wanted to equip myself with legal skills so that I can help teach my community about the local and international laws. By so doing , I believed that the youth which is the most languishing in jails will learn what is right and wrong to do and not to do,therefore reducing crime rate in the country

Re: Introduction Forum Activity

by Khensani Lubisi -

My name is Khensani Lubisi, and I am currently employed as a data capture specialist at South African National Parks, an organization dedicated to the conservation and management of the country’s rich biodiversity. Within this esteemed institution, I work in the Biodiversity Social Project Unit, which focuses specifically on the critical issue of alien invasive species. This unit tackles various invasive plant species, such as Lantana camara, Parthenium hysterophorus, and the pompom weed (Campuloclinium macrocephalum), all of which pose significant threats to local ecosystems and biodiversity.

My involvement in this project has profoundly influenced my perception of environmental issues and has ignited a deep passion for environmental conservation within me. The experience I have gained from working alongside dedicated professionals, analyzing data, and understanding the implications of invasive species on indigenous flora and fauna has been invaluable. It has not only broadened my knowledge but has also made me acutely aware of the challenges that our natural environment faces.

As a result of this transformative experience, I have made the decision to pursue formal education in environmental science. I believe that acquiring a comprehensive understanding of environmental systems, the complexities of ecological interactions, and the pressing challenges we encounter—such as climate change, habitat loss, and biodiversity decline—will enable me to contribute meaningfully to the field of environmental conservation. My goal is to develop effective strategies for protecting our environment, ensuring that future generations can enjoy and benefit from the rich diversity of our natural heritage. Through rigorous study and hands-on experience, I aim to empower myself with the knowledge necessary to make a significant impact in the field of environmental protection.

by Vusumzi Godfrey Khanyongo -

Hi everyone, I am Vusumzi Godfrey Khanyongo. I am based in Gauteng. I am a first-year student. I am currently doing a Higher Certificate in Banking.

I aim to obtain a diploma or degree in Banking and Finance however based on my APS I could not manage to be admitted; therefore, I opted to go for a Higher Certificate in Banking to obtain credits. It has been 12 years since I left school after I passed my Grade 12. I have been busy with short courses and contractual jobs. Early last year I had an opportunity to reflect on my journey to think critically about how things have turned out for me.

After that deep thinking, I came up with a positive decision that I must enroll in a university, however I am working then I had to think about a university that is doing a comprehensive distance online e-learning so that I can kill two birds with one stone. UNISA was the answer to my research.

Good day all

Im Caleb. Im studying Criminology (Law) to hopefully become Lawyer so that i can prevent any incorrect arrests. There are many people in prison or jail convicted of doing unlawful things. Among those criminals are a small percentage of people who have been wrongfully accused or framed for something they have not done. If you have followed anything to do with Law you would have seen that recently there are old cases that are being reoped to determine if they were indeed wrongfully arrested. South  Africa could definitely benifit from rechecking a few old cases.

My name is Joseph Monyane, I'm doing LLB. The reason why I chose to study law it's because I've always been fascinated with the career from when I was still in primary school.

I feel like this career is the one that plays a more important role in society because it deals with laws and Justice and being a lawyer you can help individuals in ways they cannot help themselves due to not knowing or understanding the law.

The law will always serve it's course but being a lawyer you're able to help the law take it's course by guiding your client and making sure they are able to understand the law in relation to what they are in court for.

I am an introvert but I am able to put that attribute aside to get my point across. I'd also love to engage with anyone who has knowledge about anything. In essence, I'm trying to make friends and fill up my paragraph. I'm 30 years old but I look 15. As you would have noticed, I used the word love many times, which should indicate that I want to do, think and act out of passion. I try to do most things with heart. Thank you for reading! Hello, Currently enrolled in my second year of Bcom Economics, I go by Silindile P. Xulu. There are many different employment options in domains like banking, government, international organizations, and academia for those who study economics. Understanding economics makes it easier to understand current affairs and global concerns, such as trade, development, and issues like unemployment and inflation. When developing laws that have an impact on people's lives, economics is a major factor. I want to be a part of the process of developing sensible policies that advance social progress and economic prosperity. All the best to everyone with your career endeavors.

hi there, my name is jessica. I'm from Port Elizabeth. I'm a first-year student at Unisa, studying education. I was actually conflicted between studying education or life and environmental science because I enjoy both areas. ultimately, I decided to study education because I would like to work with students who have disabilities since I also have one. I also know that not many people with disabilities go to university because the workload is so much more and it's difficult to keep up. I'm doing this and a few other things to prove a point that even though I'm disabled, I can still go to university and achieve the degree I want.

Good Day

My name is Refiloe Kupa from Mpumalanga studying Bachelor of Education Foundation Phase. I transfered from another Institution to Unisa because my life has drastically changed and since Unisa is an Open Distance eLearning Institution it is very convenient for me, which is the best choice I have ever made. I am so happy that I get to continue with my studies and finish my qualification.

The reason I chose to study Education and specialize in the Foundation Phase is because I believe I have the patience to instill and lay the foundation of academic success in young minds. I believe the Foundation Phase is very important because that's when young children begin their lives.

Hello, my name is Sandra Doyle and I'm currently studying towards LLB at Unisa. I am halfway between second and third year at the moment, when I started I decided to pace myself as I did not know how much time I would be able to spend on my studies and if taking the full curriculum would be too much. I am enjoying my studies very much, and am doing it to augment my qualifications to match my current role at work, related to compliance management. I have learned a lot more than I had bargained for already, and am happy with my decision to continue my education.

I chose this qualification because I want to become a CA (SA). Me studying on the Bachelrs level is a miracle because I came from a place where I lacked a lot of information, and I thought for as long as my APS was low I could only go to a college, which I did, but I continued to research because I felt that what I chose to study in college is not neccessarily fulfilling. So I came across a YouTube video where the lady was talking about Unisa Higher Certificates. To cut the story short, I never looked back from that moment. I did further research and I applied, and phambili is where I'm going. God bless

Hi, my name is Ashlin Lehan Lourens. I am doing the Higher Certificate Foundation and Intermediate Phase Certificate. This Certificate, to the best of my knowledge, is an entry level Certificate advancing into either a diploma or a Bachelors degree in Education and ultimately, should you choose it, end up at your Masters or Doctorate.

I must admit it's both scary and thrilling studying through UNISA. This is a Open Distance Electronic  learning environment institution which simultaneously also instills a great deal of discipline because you have to create your own learning environment all on your own.

I'm greatly honored and truly thankful to be ddoingthis Certificate whilst being able to call myself a University student. *swoon*

Education has always been a major factor for me. Being a self acclaimed academic I always wanted to add a Masters or PhD to my name.

Now as this is an entry level Certificate, I pride myself in the fact that I am able to achieve my academic goals bridged through UNISA.

I chose to study this course, because I enjoy knowing what is happening in the economy. Ever since grade 10 I knew economics would be a subject I want to do forever. The value of knowing what is happening in the economy is so great as it teaches you how to spend, when to spend, and so much more. Hi, my name is Katlego Motaung.
I'm a first-year student, I'm studying Bcompt in Financial Accounting. Why I've chosen this course? I've always loved the idea of being a CA and as well as the work; the first time I saw financial statements I couldn't stop to wonder what those numbers meant, for whom and why, and since then I've been pursing to learn to read and understand anything related to financial statements. I am gunning to be a chartered accountant, but accounting goes way beyond profession, it is after all needed in our personal lives to manage our finances. Personally, I want to be an investor, however I do love to take a bunch of numbers with information and build an understandable a summary. And I do like the perception it gives.

I am Yiva Nande Magalela. I’ve been accepted for Biomedical science. I’m a first year student in the qualification. UNISA wasn’t exactly my first choice nor was this qualification. I was studying at a different university last year and I wasn’t happy with qualification.

I applied at other institutions and UNISA happens to be one of them. I was pretty impressed when I saw that I could have this qualification as an option. I did my research on it and I feel in love with it. After my research I applied for it.

Am I worried about switching from physical classes to online classes ? Yes I am. I will do my best though and myself proud.
