Video 3.4.1: Word Interface and Navigation

Word has a different look depending on the platform used, for instance the online version has a simplified version compared to the desktop version, but in both instances the navigation works the same and consists of the following:

  • Document Title at the top.
  • Quick Access Bar under the document title.
  • A Ribbon with various tools grouped together under the quick access bar. The tools and options are grouped per category or by functions of similarity. Features pertaining to various ribbons can be accessed via the Quick Access Bar.
  • A main window called the Document Page in which all word processing takes place.
  • A Status Bar at the bottom indicating information about the document.
