To make sure the page size is A4, click on the drop-down arrow next to Size and select A4 from the list

2
  • click on the drop-down arrow next to Margins and select Custom Margins from the list
  • enter a value of 3cm (1.2 inches) for the Right margin in the popup screen

To improve readability of the document, increase the paragraph spacing by setting the Spacing After to 12 pt

4
  • Click on the three dots to the right, which represents more options
  • Select Paragraph Options from the list
  • Under Spacing, change the line spacing to 1.5

 Note

For assignment marking purposes, it is best for the right margin to be 3 cm (1.2 inches).

For further ease of reading we will also change the font type and size. These changes can be made by selecting Home from the Quick Access Bar and completing the following steps:

1 Change the font to Arial by clicking on the drop-down arrow next to font type currently set to Calibri
2 Change the size to 12 pt by clicking on the drop-down arrow next to font size currently set to 11 pt

 Note

When working with word processing software that does spelling and grammar checking, you should make sure the language and region is set up correctly.

Let’s change the language to English South Africa by selecting Review on the Quick Access Bar and completing the following steps:

1 Click on the drop-down arrow next to Editor (for some versions of Word it will be Spelling and Grammar) and select Set Proofing language
2 From the list select English (South Africa) and click on OK
